Description
How to request a marriage certificate / extract / full copy
The marriage certificate is a document that proves the marriage between two individuals, registered in an Italian municipality, of which the personal data and the date of celebration are known.
The full copy of the marriage certificate, the marriage extract and the multilingual marriage extract are more detailed documents, which can only be requested by the interested party, a relative or a person with a legal interest. The full copy of the marriage certificate becomes accessible to everyone 70 years after the formation of the marriage certificate.
To obtain these documents, you must be delegated by one of the two spouses, and receive the delegation form by email after completing the order. Then, you must fill out the form with the following information:
-
Full name of the spouses (at least one of them);
-
Date of birth of the spouses (at least one of them);
-
Date of marriage celebration;
-
Municipality and province where the marriage was celebrated.
What is written in the marriage certificate
The marriage certificate is a document that contains the following data relating to the marriage between two natural persons:

Name and Surname of the spouses;
-
Date and place of birth of the spouses;

It does not require translation.
May not contain
